Sandisk Grows Through Mitsumi In Africa

Silicon Valley-based S&P 500 and Fortune 500 company, SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ: SNDK), has signed a distribution deal with Mitsumi, one of the largest and fastest growing IT distributors in Africa.
Mitsumi distributes to over 19 countries in Africa including Kenya, Tanzania, Ghana, Tunisia, Morocco, Zambia and Namibia.
"The relationship with Mitsumi will strengthen our position in the African storage market," said Sreedhar Sreekumar, SanDisk's regional sales manager, Middle East & Africa. "Africa is a growing market and represents great potential for SanDisk. We are excited to work with Mitsumi and to see SanDisk grow throughout the continent. Our relationship with Mitsumi reinforces our objective to expand our product reach in Africa."
The agreement follows the rise of smartphones in Africa, which has increased by 43 percent every year since 2000.
